From Healthcare to Humanitarianism

Originally trained as a registered nurse, Mrs. Philip spent several years in Houston, Texas, where her professional life exposed her to structured healthcare systems and community-based service models.

The Turning Point

A Vision for Education

One of the most significant milestones of her journey was the establishment of a children’s home that provided not just shelter, but a stable, nurturing environment where children could grow with care, structure, and hope. Over time, the trust expanded its reach, supporting the daily needs, education, and well-being of over a hundred children, many of whom came from deeply disadvantaged backgrounds.

Mrs. Philip has always believed that charity without education is incomplete. This belief laid the foundation for the creation of educational institutions under the trust, culminating in the establishment of Dr. Raj K. Chopra Memorial Public School.

It was during her visit to India, in 2004 that her life’s direction took a decisive turn. She came face to face with the stark realities of poverty—children who were malnourished, homeless, abandoned, and without access to even the most basic necessities of life.

Deeply moved by what she witnessed, Mrs. Philip resolved not to remain a passive observer. With limited resources but unwavering determination, she began providing shelter and care to orphaned and abandoned children. This modest beginning soon evolved into an organised charitable effort rooted in dignity, discipline, and long-term sustainability.
